Remember how I made a post about Keep Note a while ago and talked about how great it was and how it simply solves all my issues dealing with switching to Linux entirely? Well on that level it was slightly exaggerated and I can’t switch over just yet to Linux and I’m learning all I need to learn now so I can make that switch much easier on myself and the people I need to be able to get my homework done quickly and in a way that’s compatible reliably. BUT, I was able to make the first switch I need to make in accomplishing that goal which is making the long and somewhat irritating switch from OneNote to KeepNote. I wish I knew an easier way to make that switch but for right now I did it the hard way by copying and reformatting all my notes in to KeepNote. The worst part was having to reformat all my unnumbered lists in KeepNote because it’s apparently completely incompatible with OneNote. BUT I did switch to KeepNote. I’ve now run keep note for a couple weeks and it’s worked very well. I got used to it quickly and began to naturally avoid things that cause bugs in the program and crash it. Of course sometimes it does still do that but it’s almost impossible for it to lose the data still because it saves so quickly and to separate small files which are easy to save quickly. Matt , the main programmer of KeepNote, is releasing new versions every so often and it gets better and better every time he does. I love KeepNote now and as soon as I can I’m switching over to Linux to continue my hacking and open source adventures.
